Activities & Special Functions Ministry oversees the facility setup and schedules events for the use of the Church's banquet facilities. Sister Bessie Daniel

Arts Ministry (Dance & Drama) - As we witness to the body of Christ through plays, skits, drama and dance, we learn that where the Spirit of the LORD is there is liberty. Dr. Margaret Douglass
Birthday Celebration Ministry is very special at First Shiloh. Each 4th Sunday we recognize birthdays of our members and invite them to a cake and punch birthday reception following the worship service. Sister Doris Dandridge
Budget and Finance Committee serve as stewards of God's resources. This committee monitors the budget and encourages the financial growth of the church in order that the Kingdom work can be done. Sister Brenda Carter-Robertson
Christian Education Ministry encourages spiritual growth through Christian Education teaching, training, workshop events, and to provide leadership development for those who serve in church. Our focus on family life includes support life stage ministry for men, women, youth, singles, couples and seniors. Sister Sandra Wright-Bonner
Culinary Ministry provides delicious meals and receptions for all First Shiloh events from New Members' Breakfast to the Annual Homecoming Dinner and everything in between. Deaconess Sheila Ezell
Deaconess Ministry provides spiritual fellowship for women called to service in the church and provides counsel and support to the women of the church. As committed Christian women, the Deaconesses are called to promote the love of God in the fellowship of the body, to actively witness to the lost and to share their Christian testimony by life style, deportment and deeds. Deacons Ministry - At First Shiloh the Deacons are our spiritual leaders. Through the Ministry of Family Care, each member of First Shiloh is assigned a Deacon who is responsible for your ongoing discipleship and spiritual growth. You should let your Deacon know if there are situations or needs in your family in which the church may be of help to you. Deacon Ed Sutton
Evangelism Ministry - Our mission is to reach the lost by sharing the message of God's love in Word and deed through witnessing to the lost and outreach evangelism. Reverend Criss Tate
FFF (Food, Fun and Fellowship) - We nurture the spiritual growth of our youth and children in an atmosphere of "food, fun and fellowship." In this component of Youth and Children's Ministry, youth get to participate in fun-filled activities and outings that allow them to see the church as an exciting place to be and a vital part of their life. Five-Year Planning - Partnering with Pastoral vision and leadership, this committee will strategize methods and ways in which the goals of the church can be met as they relate to in-reach, community outreach, and facilities development. Often we see the finished product, but the Five-Year Planning team assists in defining vision so that the church lines up with God's agenda. Bro. Darryl Glover
Food Pantry & Clothes Closet provides emergency food and clothing to men, women and children in need. Our goal is to respond to the need for food and clothing in Hanover County and throughout the greater Richmond area. Sister Judith Carter-Glover
Funeral Coordinator - The death of a loved one is a time when we are most vulnerable. The Funeral Coordinator meets with our families during this difficult time to coordinate the various aspects of services during your bereavement. We want to make this a time where you experience the healing presence of God more than ever before. Sister Elizabeth Otey
Golden Age Ministry ministers to the needs of the mature and experienced in our church. Every quarter our mature members enjoy a fellowship gathering that includes a luncheon where activities and outings are planned for our seniors 62+. This group is always on the move for God. Intercessory Prayer - The Intercessory Prayer Team is always in prayer for the church and our members. Our earnest requests are made known weekly through our intercessory prayer team. Prayer changes things! Dr. Sharon Siler
Leadership Council, a forum of information exchange where all leaders come together to report on their activities and ministries within the church body. Future goals and plans are shared for the benefit of enlisting each other's support. Deaconess Loretta Hopson-Bush
Library Ministry - First Shiloh Baptist Church has an abundance of resources that include books, media, and training resources. Our library is constantly growing and you are encouraged to use if for your own enrichment. The library is open each Sunday morning, Wednesdays at 6:00 pm and by appointment. Married Couples' Ministry offers support and friendship while encouraging the spiritual growth of married couples. Through this ministry the church facilitates a meaningful outreach that focuses on traditional values of marriage and family life, supports couple growth, and encourages active church involvement. In addition the quarterly meetings, the Married Couples' Ministry has two MC Tune-Ups each year, a Spring outing, and the every popular MCM Retreat in the Fall. Men's Ministry - The mission of the Men's Ministry of First Shiloh Baptist Church is to promote fellowship, leadership, spiritual growth and unity among men and to encourage responsibility and spiritual leadership in the home. Meets bi-monthly. Bro. Freddie German
Missionaries - Our Christian commitment requires us to do whatever we can to be a blessing to the people of God wherever there is need because HE has blessed us. With a focus on local, home and foreign missions we seek to respond to this Gospel mandate. Sister Annie Hansom
Ministerial Alliance - Our Pastor leads by example. He has challenged, trained, developed, licensed, and ordained more than a dozen sons and daughters of First Shiloh. The sons and daughters are all assigned a ministry field and passionately carry out their assigned responsibilities until they are called to serve elsewhere. Currently there are six associates actively working with our Pastor to assist in the implementation of God's vision for First Shiloh Baptist Church. Additionally, FSBC is pleased to provide ongoing nurture and training for its MIT's (Ministers-in-training). Reverend Glenda Glover Baul
Music Department - Our music department ministers through a variety of music consisting of hymns, anthems, praise and worship, and gospel music. The Voices of Praise minister each first Sunday. The E. C. Fogle Memorial Chorus minister each second Sunday. The Combined Voices of Shiloh minister each third Sunday. The Youth & Children's Choir minister each fourth Sunday. New Members Fellowship-New members receive several instructional classes and a wonderful celebration of our new lives together at our annual New Members' Breakfast. New members are also enrolled in our HOPES (Helping Our People Enter Service) second level class to become activated into some area of church ministry. Nurses' Guild Ministry informs our members on the subjects of life, health, safety, and the prevention and cure of diseases. Committed to the Biblical teaching that man's physical powers are a sacred endowment, that the body belongs to God, that it was formed in His image, God will hold man responsible for its care and that the very essence of the Gospel of Christ is restoration and wholeness for the mental, spiritual, and physical man. Pastor's Aid Ministry goal is plain and simple. We are simply here to take care of the Pastor and First Family. Our First Family is on the go always looking out for the needs of our members and the needs of others. Therefore, this team is committed to watch over and care for our First Family. Personnel Committee makes recommendations for leadership in addition to assisting in the hiring of staff as instructed by the Pastor. The Personnel Committee provides position descriptions for each incumbent. This committee also maintains the record of tenure for each position. Sister Nekeshia Love

Single Adults Ministry provides opportunities for spiritual growth and fellowship for all singles of the church and the surrounding community. Also, "SAM" serves as an information exchange and contact forum by providing information, sponsoring seminars, workshops and social events designed to meet the needs of all single adults. Solid Rock Cafe' is a place for our youth to meet and dialog about the teen scene. Solid Rock Cafe' meets on Friday nights for middle schoolers and high schoolers. With the support of the Chickahominy Baptist Association, this is an outreach to the youth of all the churches in our Association. Rev. Byron Harris
Sound & Tape Ministry - Where would we be without the sounds of First Shiloh? This ministry oversees our electronic systems as well as records all services. Summer Enrichment Program provides supervised childcare in a Christian setting. Focusing on growth and development, the program provides cultural activities, structured programs and planned activities that will broaden your child's experiences shaped in an atmosphere of caring and fun. Sunday School serving in partnership with the Christian Education ministry the Sunday School ... Transportation Ministry - No longer is "I don't have a ride to church" an acceptable excuse. The Transportation Ministry team provides transportation each Sunday morning and for other services as requested. Please contact Deacon Baker if we can be of service to you. Deacon Louis Baker
Trustee Ministry is charged with the temporal oversight of our church. This ministry is responsible for maintenance and upkeep of our facilities and functions as the legal representatives for all business matters of the church. Trustee Allen Cooper
Ushers/Greeters Ministry - Standing on our walls and at the doors, providing a friendly smile and leading our visitors into a great worship experience, you will find our ushers on call every Sunday. Deaconess Edith Hopkins
Visitation Ministry is a ministry to the sick and infirmed. Our Minister of Visitation provides regular visits to those in the hospital, shut-ins and those who experience trouble. Through prayer, support and help in times of need, we want to be available to you. Reverend S. Garrett Hansom
Visitors Fellowship- Visitors are very special at First Shiloh. We celebrate first-time visitors with a very special greeting and by having a fellowship immediately following morning service. A large percentage of our visitors become new members. Deaconess Barbara Robinson
Wedding Coordinator - Getting married and need help! Search no more. First Shiloh has its own experienced Wedding Coordinator. Planning a wedding has never been so easy until you place it in the hands of one whose organizational skills are out of this world. Sister Blanche Moore
Women's Ministry - Ladies, ladies, ladies can we talk! This ministry is awesome ministering to the needs of women in every area of life. It reaches all ages. This is a great opportunity for friendship, mentoring and spiritual growth in an atmosphere of support, nurture and care. Meetings and fellowship activities are scheduled regularly. Worship Committee - We have come to glorify the LORD. The task of the Worship Committee is to stimulate the senses and enhance your experience of God through dynamic and creative worship, emphasis on special days, banners and special ministries. Youth Ministry - The youth outlook is bright and kids are special at First Shiloh. Our dynamic ministry to youth and children teaches spiritual principles and the disciplines of the church.
