Dr. R. Neal Siler is a native of Siler City,
North Carolina where he was educated through High School. He holds a
BA in Psychology and Sociology from University of North Carolina,
Chapel Hill, a Master of Theological Studies from the Trinity
Lutheran Seminary, Columbus, Ohio; a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology
from the Southwestern University, and A Doctor of Ministry Degree
from Ashland Theological Seminary, Ashland, Ohio.
In further preparing for
ministerial service, Dr. Siler is a graduate of the Billy Graham
Advanced School of Evangelism, is a PAIIRS, Marriage and
Relationship Educator, a graduate of the Wake Forest University
Church Management Institute, a graduate of the Harvard University
School of Divinity Leadership Institute, and has continued
theological studies at the Baptist Theological Seminary in Richmond,
Virginia.
Celebrating more than thirty
years of ministry, Reverend Siler has served as Pastor of the First
Shiloh Baptist Church, Mechanicsville, Virginia for the past
twenty-four years. With an emphasis on Special Ministries to Youth,
Children, Young Adults, Singles, Married Couples and Senior Adults,
First Shiloh has become a thriving Congregation of total church
ministry that reaches the whole man, body, soul and spirit. In
addition to the pastorate of First Shiloh, he is an adjunct
professor in the Doctoral Program at Ashland Theological Seminary,
Ohio and has also taught adjunct courses at Virginia Union
University. A sought after seminar and conference presenter, he has
conducted family seminars, conferences and retreats across the
country. He is the Executive Director of New Life Ministries of
Virginia, Inc.; the president of the Center for New Life School of
Continuing Ministry and the founding Director of The Healing Place –
Center for Counseling and Spiritual Formation. New Life Ministries
is an organization dedicated to strengthening church and family
life, providing Marriage, Family and Individual Counseling;
Budgeting and Financial Management.
Dr. Siler is affiliated with
the Baptist General Convention of Virginia; The National Baptist
Convention, USA, Inc.; Past Moderator of the Chickahominy Baptist
Association; Past Board Member of First Things First, Marriage
Builders Alliance of Richmond; Past member of the Board of Directors
for Meals on Wheels of Greater Richmond; a member of the NAACP; a
Charter member of the American Association of Christian Counselors
and Board Member of BAACC, the African American Division of the
American Association of Christian Counselors; member of the
Association of Marriage and Family Therapy and the Association for
Psychological Type International.
Reverend Siler resides in
Mechanicsville, Virginia with his wife and help mate of thirty-four
years, the former Sharon Ezell, who works closely with him in
ministry. The Siler's have two married adult children: Jonathan and
Kirsten and a wonderful 4 year old granddaughter, Janae.
